Hi Has any one fitted this system to there vans and if so how effective is it I`m thinking about so maybe if my wife has to tow it will give her a bit more confidence and make things safer, this system is not the single bar system that works on friction, its the dual cam system seems great in theory,
Mike, used one (with and without) for a few years on my past 22ft Jayco Stirling.
Swear by them, as they activelly try to centre the van, and not just resist sway as the friction devices do.
Today I would be fitting a electronic sway / brake system without question which alternate the side application of the brakes.
Probably around same price as the extra cam components. Down side of the sway cam is they hang low and can bottom out when on uneven ground.
One option I would recomend is mount your brake controller in a central position so the passenger can be ready to gently activate it if a sway starts. Worked for us a couple of times when my wife was driving and gave her a big confidence boost. We now share the driving about 2 hours each.
I now have an offroad van which cannot use any levelling system.
Enjoy the journey
John.
Have just returned home after removing the dual cam system. I had occasion to need to remove the HR classic bars and replaced then with the Pro Series round bars. I did not wish to folk out an extra $500 for a round bar HR set of bars as I now have ESC. I found the van to be a little more effected by overtaking trucks without the twin cam system.
I am prepared with the present set up without the twin cam. There is a used set of twin cans up for grabs located in the Newcastle/Central Coast region. PM me to make an offer if you are interested. You will need a set of HR round or classic bars with the hooked ends to match the twin cams.

We have had a van without ESC and our current van is fitted with ESC. Best thing out - no swaying or being sucked in at a road train passing you on a narrow road
