Gday, I have a Sphere SSA-850 dish and an Altech DSR-9625 receiver with a very interesting problem. The receiver looses satellite lock every night around 8:00pm and doesn't regain it again until about 9:00 next morning.
I've connected the Altech receiver to a dish I have at home on the carport roof and works ok.
If anybody out there has a similar setup could you provide me with signal strength and signal quality percentages for day and nightime please as I believe quality is the issue and I'd like to know what typical figures are.
thanks
John

John , do not have your dish set up, but to me could be a iffy connection/bad joint, when it gets cold the connection loses conductivity. Would also swap over your LNB's if you have not already done so.
Thanks Peter, I was speaking to a tech today, he suggested I swap the cable/LNBs over to isolate the cables or LNBs. The fault remained the same which indicates. Thanks for the quick reply, hope he's right.
Good one Peter..have been rehashing connections on my system as well We seem to get to confident that all the connections are fine,,but with frequent changes in location we get forgetful about TIGHT,, BROKEN etc
Have you tried to adjust the skew of your LMB. This is the 3rd adjustment that needs to made when serching for your satellight. If it is off this may be werer your problem is.
Thanks for the replies. Done heaps of tests with the tech and found the cable joining tuner 1 out to tuner 2 in caused problems. Everything is working ok so far and I've set it up to do lots of multichannel recording overnight. We'll see how it goes. Fingers crossed.
