I have put this up to ensure that our forum members are not confused by the free data offer by Telstra this coming Sunday 03 April 2016.
Telstra is sending emails to all their DATA customers - whether mobile, tablet or mobile broadband plan - no matter whether you are on a pre-paid or post-paid plan.
It is for free DATA .... NOT mobile calls.

I see that, like last time, the free data day is a Sunday so makes it hard for businesses to take advantage of the offer. Still, it's better than a poke in the eye with a burnt stick. Having just received my email it occurred to me that with clocks going back an hour at 3am on Sunday for those living in states with daylight savings, we'll have 25 hours of free data. Guess you'd really have to be keen to make the most of it, though....

What a waste of time. It's a very hollow offer. I have ample data included in my mobile plan and there is no way I can take advantage of this offer. Big downloads are done via my NBN connection.

A nice gesture, though for some it will not be of much value. I too have hundreds of Gig on my home cable plan that I never use. (200 g/mth with three free top ups of 200g each if I need it).
I suppose that on Sunday I could play about on my mobile that I only use for calls & not data.
We have just returned from a week on a houseboat up the inside of Fraser Island. The grandchildren would have loved a day of unlimited data up there ....... To give them a break from catching monster flathead & crabs, plus kayaking & dive bombing from the top deck of the Houseboat.
