G'day every one, ive not long joined, and wanting info please, i am installing led lights and find they are very bright, I have one of those old type lantern which is modernised with LEDs and a on / off dimmer switch, the switch would be ideal to work the lights I am installing, I have checked the net, but cannot find the exact switch, so I am asking the forum for help, thank you all.
Hi Kewijo, I bought a remote wireless/on - off/ dimmer switch when I bought my led lights (strips), on eBay, whole deal was very cheap, without the dimmer the LEDs are very bright and probably use less power when dimmed a bit. There is a small receiver that goes in series with the strip and the remote is only about 80mm long and is battery operated, effective up to 10 metres, maybe check those out

Hi Kewijo, post a pic of your light fitting and the LED you have along with any specs you have on it. 03_Troopy has already asked what voltage it is, that's because not all LED's can be dimmed, generally multivolt can but most fixed voltage can't. In these situations Pic's & Spec's will get a solution faster.

Actually, fixed voltage can be dimmed with a simple variable resistor. Multi voltage replacement globes can't because they use a constant current supply.
