Recent thread.

At the risk of incurring the wrath of our beloved moderator who has closed the Jon English thread, may I be allowed to just quote the following;

"I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it"

Evelyn Beatrice Hall, writer.

....and if there has been a litany of non-agreeance, you suffer in silence do you Magnarc.?.....thereby encouraging even more drivel?.....a couple of good mates on here, interesting and humorous posters have left for good, rather than suffer it....I also left previously because of this poster after some 500 posts I had made.....however I realized it only encourages more tripe on newbies....'Stand up for what you Believe is Fair and Reasonable'....Larry 2016..............Hoo Roo

The issue in the 'Jon English' thread and also in the 'Comment on Avatar' thread was not that there were differences of opinions. We welcome robust debate on this forum. The reason these threads were closed is because I felt both contained a few unpleasant personal comments ... and it also seemed that any constructive discussion in both was at an end.
I am keen to keep this forum a positive place. As we mention in our forum rules, personal attacks are not permitted. As moderator, I close threads that I feel are either in breach of the rules or are perhaps not appropriate to the spirit or the focus of our forum. Thanks for your understanding.

For the record...I made no posts whatsoever in the Late Jon English thread..I just let the balls go through to the wicketkeeper...however when the stirrer returned to 'gloat' in an additional thread I then gave 'lip'......attempting to turn the grandstanding into a positive I guess I turned it into a negative, for which I apologize...a number of members have contacted me by PM offering their support on my comments....
Another day in the Office......

Thread master ? Can the posts be delegated instead of closing thread ? Or have that person on probation for a few days ? It seems the good are penalised as well . Thanks . Graeme ..
