Alice has asked me to tell all her friends at the Grey Nomad site how she is doing.
She went under the knife on 10th March after being diagnosed with Bowel Cancer. The op took six hours as there were a few complications. The Surgeons say it was a success and there was a good chance she may not need Chemo, here's hoping.
She has recovered well and is looking forward to coming home possibly Wednesday or Thursday.
She is in Harvey bay hospital and we are house sitting at Burrum heads for a few more weeks.
another good news post - pass on to Alice the best wishes from all us Grey Nomads and hope for a speedy recovery (someone needs to chop the wood for the outside fires at night and winter is only a few months away LOL)

Hi all. Out of hospital. Tricky hospital Hervey Bay. They invite you in for a key hole op to take about 3 hrs with an hour or so in recovery& then 9 Hours later!! They had to open me up as they found I had a birth defect - an extra yard of traverse colon which was all twists, turns & loops. So they had to lift the lot out onto the table & sort it out. They then cut as much excess colon off as they could, joined it up & packed it back in. I have bounced back ok but of course I will have too take it easy for a while. No driving for 6 weeks. Thanks for all the good wishes. Talk to you all again soon. Regards Alice
Glad it went well for you though more complicated than first thought. Hope to see you soon - we are in Caboolture at the moment. Take it easy, hope Keith looks after you well!
