Barwon River C/P in Geelong

Avoid!!  Good: Staff when approached were friendly and couldn't be more helpful. Playgrounds and pool were well maintained. Bad: Not enough larger sites for large vans. Three Major roads surround the park and you hear constant road noise and the occasional train blowing their horn. Trees hanging overhead, full of what must be billions of worms that drop and excrete all over your car, van & annexe and get into the vents & A/C. Trees dropping leaves and black soot damaging the paintwork on the car, caravan and the white awning was black. In the Tourist caravan/camp sites approx. 30 sites facilities consist of demountable 2 unisex toilets & 2 unisex toilet/shower combined, which is totally inadequate. I've read all the great reviews the reason we went there but found it to be one of the worst we'd encountered after 4 years permanently on the road and travelling in every state in Australia. We won't return.
