I saw someone in a Toyota HiAce drive out of the Texas camp just last week, with the pop top still up.

By the time I got out of my van to wave them down they were out on the road and gone.

A guy came into the c/v park recently with his jockey wheel still on. Nearly popped the van off entering the park. When I pointed out to him that his jockey wheel was still attached wasn't at all worried until he checked out the wheel and saw all the damage to it!

bet the rental firm Maui took all his excess off when they returned the RV. You would have thought it was visible through the side mirror or heard the banging, crashing noise (assuming the pic was not taken just a few metres after having driven it with the awning out).

Have done the Aus Kiwi TV trick aerial once - fortunately I was in a CP and one of the staff members sprinted out from the office and stopped us before we got more than about 10 metres. A good lesion and since then we've never had problems with forgetting to wind stuff up/down/put away etc. We always stop within about 10 mins (unless we're on a motorway) of starting off and I do a walk around visual and the BOSS does an internal (of the van) and importantly make sure the fridge has switched to 12v. Takes all of about 3-5 mins - seems not many people do this though

My previous MH had a check list inside over the door. Like a hire van has. Great idea and we always looked at it. WE even loaned it to the kids a couple of times and no problems.

I would recommend it to everyone to put one up at the door.biggrin

I took off from near Murwillumbah a week or so ago with the front awning (the thingo that goes over the front window) up. Naturally wind pressure raised it and tore it off, but when I stopped for fuel at MacLean (around 220km down the track) it was still there - sitting on the draw bar - a miracle for which a I am immensely thankful.
