Our local Plumber to the rescue

Hi all,

Clint out plumber is giving us costing to do the lot.

He came around last thing to fix yet another miss hap that my brush cutter loves taking out the front garden tap at the base.no When he had finished, I invited him to have a look at the new wheels in the shed as he has brought a second hand Windsor van himself.

We were having a pale ale or two and telling him about the mess under our van. So he jumps on my garage creaper and go's for a ride with my led work light. OMG Jim what did you pay for this.

Can you help me move the gas lines so I can put the second water tank back in front of the Grey water tank. His reply was. Why didn't they run the gas lines down the left side in the first place. Plane bloody lazy,in his opinion. Have you measured the tank. Yep will fit no problem if you can do that bit for me.

I showed him the gas line in the cuboard under the stove running clean through the middle of the cuboard. You got to be joking.why didn't they affix it to the wall so you could use it in total. begger's beleaf. Don't they use pipe benders. Can you do that for us as well. Yep, and will give you a new compliance certificate with the work.

Now were getting some where. when where done, I will do a before and after photo shoot.smilesmilesmilesmilesmilesmilesmilesmile

Hope he is a very friendly plumber as I was quoted over $600.00 to just have a bayonet for my Baby Q fitted to the van, including certificate. This bloke certainly knew how to charge. I did not get it done until I got back to friendly territory where it cost me 2 cartons of beer. Now thats a better price, especially as I helped drink some of them LOL

I have an even better arrangement with a Plumber/Gas fitter Son who does a lot of caravan work.

Looks like Jayco haven't changed their methods much over the years.  While I am extremely happy with my 1999 Westport, it too has lots of poor fit out practices that I have discovered & fixed over the years.

But Yes, I would consider buying another.

You can not beat having a good plumber for a mate or a close family member as they can be very expensive. I just spent $600 dollars having a new two way valve fitted to my house.
