Pencil 12V water transfer pump

Hi all.

Dumb me ordered a 12V water / oil / diesel transfer pump of flea bay $16.95 made in China. It flew here in three days. Problem been its 51mm in Dia.confuse I need one 46mm or less. I rushed in without checking the dia of my 25lt drumscry. = 46mmwink

Still looking. I found a Rule for $65.  A Whale for $59.95. Dose anyone know where I can something more around the $35.00 mark.smile

If you only want to transfer water look at the shower units in BCF or Big W the entire unit with shower head is less than $20.00 Not sure if it's rated for other substances

Hi Jim,

I use one of these to transfer from containers to van. Opening size is not a problem as I use two short lengths of hose. Got from evilbay but up around $70. Do the job without any drama at all. 

Edit....oops, can't turn it around on the ipad sorry Jim. Just stand on your head and all will be clear mate.

Hi Dougwe,

I like your set up as I did Bessies a while back. I want to use it down a small inlet to a unknown to most, soak / spring 2mtrs below, down Nigaloo way. It saves driving a round trip of 80km for water. I had a whale that went with our camper shower (Sold). Worked a treat. If I had known the cost that they were now, not so cheap. I may have kept it. It was thirteen years old.wink might have to bite on the wallet.  Bugger.

Any China versions out there........... You who hullo hullo out there.

have a look in a boat place or auto electrician Jim at bilge pumps for boats. We bought one to pump water and it drops in the square 25 lt tanks (not jerry cans) no sweat Jim. It cost us - $160 in Exmouth - but made in the USA and will do up to 180lt a min. On our travels we use it pretty much every day to move water from the 25 lt tanks (x4) in our ute to the van tanks.

At the sort of prices youre looking at, I wonder how long it will last - do you want it breaking down in remote towns where you cant get a replacement?

No doubt in Sydney you can buy a quality one for much less - oh, and you can hang an in-line strainer filter and 2 x 0.5 micron filters on it if you want to take water from a lake, dam or creek (none of those in Ningaloo - I assume you are referring to WA). So you might want to buy a reverse osmosis setup to turn sea water into potable water LOL

Been Tight Ass Jim, when it comes to parting with coin, I know I have to part with it. The whale pump is good for the long haul. Plus as I say. (A DOLLAR'S A DOLLAR still in my pocket at the end of the day.)
