I don't know about that 03_troopy. I have had great service from RACV and their interstate affiliates over the years.

There have  been many times I have been camped out in the boonies, at times with no mobile coverage, and had to walk or hitch to get to a phone.

RACV etc have always come and sorted out my problems (well, the vehicle's problems )

The only roadblock would be if they can't get to you with a two-wheel drive vehicle.

The only downside when out in the boonies is the wait which can be a few hours ... but at least it is assistance.
