Check List

A while ago somebody posted a check list to use before setting off  and having searched for it, I have found nothing but a good joke.  So please anyone with one that I can adapt for my needs I would be greatly pleased. Better, quicker than starting from scratch   Thanks in advance.

Rays Outdoors do a series of checklists for camping, hiking and caravanning see, blog.raysoutdoors.com.au/expertadvice/caravanning-checklist
Aussie Disposals also have a series of checklists for camping, hiking and caravanning see, www.aussiedisposals.com.au/media/wysiwyg/caravan-checklist.pdf This is the one that I adapted to suit us.

Gday...

Do you mean before setting off from a site after camping there?

I used to use this one, but having now been on the road for seven years, I just have a routine that I follow.

Even with this checklist I still forgot some things early in my journey - eg forgot to disconnect 240v cord no forgot to release handbrake no and once nearly left the van park with the jockey wheel still down. no

OH, and once I left the TV antenna erect, and drove about 150Km to the next camp without any drama (thankfully)

Hope it gives some ideas you can pinch for your list.

Cheers - John

Hi Bru,
If you have wicki camps then there is a very good and adaptable check list section, you can customise it and make several lists, the check them off before setting off.
Hope this helps
Cheers
Greg

Thanks everyone I will use the sample and adapt it plus I will check wiki camps as well . I think I've made many mistakes in the last few years, now is the time to eliminate them till something new comes along.

Saw a car leave the other day with a broken electrical cord following. If u have fridge in back of car make sure to unplug before u leave for shopping etc.

We too busted an extension cprd between the van and ute - did it in front of a stack of other caravaners as well which was a cause of great frivolity. We now run the card across the drivers door so we can't forget it/ That's worked so far :)

Surely your van hand book must have a list.?
Anyway, corner stabilisers up, power and water disconnected, grey water hose picked up and stashed, chocks picked up, telly antenna pulled down, hand brake off, pop top clips done up, hitch clip down and locked in place with a pin, chains connected properly, levelling bars fitted correctly, power cable connected, check all lights before moving off, inside the van, drawers and doors closed and locked, roof hatch closed, fridge over to DC, all windows closed and locked properly, boot locked, towing mirrors fitted, arrange all these into some order of sequence and you'll be somewhere near the mark, make sure the hitch has the pin in and locked with a pin.

Don't forget the missus!

Hi Bru

I asked the same question a while back and the replies were great. I used most of them and also added. While the unit was parked in the driveway i got the note pad out and did the full item check. One for the inside and then one outside i enjoyed doing it myself as it started to form a routine which is now standard practice before and after every trip. You can have 2 or 3 different lists for different formats. Its fun to do your own cheers
