As at 9.02pm Thursday 28 Januarythe Bureau of Meteorology advises a Tropical Low is estimated to be estimated to be 415 kilometres north northwest of Port Hedland and 455 kilometres north of Karratha.

CYCLONE DETAILS: As at 6.04am Friday 29 Januarythe Bureau of Meteorology advises a Tropical Low is estimated to be 325 kilometres north northwest of Port Hedland and 355 kilometres north of Karratha.
It is moving south south west at 12 kilometres per hour.
CYCLONE DETAILS: As at 2.55pmthe Bureau of Meteorology advises category 1 Tropical Cyclone (TC) Stan, is estimated to be 290 kilometres north northwest of Port Hedland and 340 kilometres north northeast of Karratha.
It is moving south south east at 5 kilometres per hour.
TC Stan is expected to intensify later today or overnight.
Very destructive wind with gusts up to 170 kilometres per hour are are possible near the cyclone centre prior to landfall on Saturday.
CYCLONE DETAILS: As at 11.00pm on Friday 29 January, the Bureau of Meteorology advises Tropical Cyclone Stan lies to the north of the Pilbara coast and is now a category 2system. It continues to track slowly south southeast towards the Pilbara coast.
It is expected to reach category 3 intensity (severe tropical cyclone)prior to landfall on Saturday afternoon or evening between Wallal and Whim Creek.
VERY DESTRUCTIVE WINDS with gusts to 170 kilometres per hour are possible near the cyclone centre as it makes landfall on Saturday afternoon or evening.
