I know all those negative things about John Denver - did you know he has another personality - Doctor Demento? Google it.

But that doesn't take away from the fact that this is a fantastic song about our beautiful country, by someone who obviously enjoyed being here and seeing all our wonders - thanks, John, for sharing - I loved it!!!!

It is not "celebrating" any person .... that is if you mean John Denver.

 Jules, is it your opinion that Dr Demento is really John Denver? Don't think so. As much as I find Dr Demento amusing his voice is no where near as good as John Denvers. See also https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dr._Demento
