RE: Your REASONS for traveling.

Friends of ours recently did a trip from Melbourne to Perth/ Margaret River then Broome, Darwin & down the Centre back to Melbourne, all in 9 weeks. When they arrived home they said that they were bored & there was nothing out there! Our main reason for traveling is wildlife photography but we also enjoy bush-walking, wildflowers, history & fishing/yabbying. All of these interests enhance our traveling experiences & give us a REASON to travel from place to place . We'd never stay somewhere just because it's free if there was nothing of interest there. If we had no interests at all we'd probably spend our time washing/polishing/fiddling with our rig & looking through the bottom of a glass every day like a few people that we've seen. What are other peoples INTERESTS when they're out & about? There must be many.  ps: We enjoy a few drinks along our way too.

While I would like to do the "lap" one day, some of my best trips are less than 50km away from home. Free camps or caravan parks, doesn't matter, you need to find what you like before you chew off more than you can handle.
