seen a few on our travels and you wonder how they mechanically keep going, let alone all the creature comforts.
At one place, however, we free camped beside what looked like an old banger and got chatting with them. They were interested in looking in our new 'van and offered to show us around them. We were amazed that in fact it was quite modern inside and very comfortable with all the mod cons - toilet, shower, TV, microwave etc and he insisted on showing me the motor (my knowledge of modern motors goes as far as checking the oil and water) - but it was a replacement re-furbed diesel motor which they had only run up about 8K on. Had 2 x 150lt water tanks, a 200 lt grey and 100lt black water tank, 3kva genie. Made our new 'van pretty basic lol

The amazing things you see when nomading Australia
We've seen some worse than that & wondered if they are actually roadworthy? The one that stands out for us was a total rust bucket, the owners had 4 large dogs, it smelt like a Boarding Kennels, dog fur everywhere!

"Yep" we have seen some real heaps of junk on the road in N.Z. ourselves,
While over there, we followed one monstrous pile of Pine wood up the highway for many km's , ( very similar to the one in the first photo ) I dare not overtake it as it was swaying all over the road, as it looked like it was about to fall apart,
Here are a few more, that makes one wonder how they ever got a "Warrant -of-Fitness", which by the way, all vehicles in NZ must have every twelve months, after going through a testing station...........
