25 years since I been down there, I would think if that caravan is there you should have know problems.

It looks inviting. Enjoy.

Hi Jade46,

i was just looking on google maps after seeing your request.Boy o boy I will do this very soon, as I live in Sydney.

It looks great, the road is sealed all the way. And yes there is camping ( see photo attached) Would make a great weekend away. The road would drop down  to the floor of the valley and then is fairly flat.

 Hi Jade and everyone,

What a  wonderful place for a few days. We went down yesterday19th April. It is sealed all the way. I would drive the desent with headlights on, and select second gear for a motorhome. We have a tandum Jayco Journey outback 17.55 pop top. After yesterdays visit we will go back for a weekend with the van. been 2500kg all up, First gear to save the brakes. Yes, you will need to be over the double lines a little, Just go slow we meet no oncoming traffic going down. The Rain forrest at 1pm was fantastic. There is camping at Fords Reserve and well maintained drop toilet bins and fire pits. Take a few blocks of wood + your levellers as on weekends I would imagin would be popular with campers/ bushwalkers. I will post some photos when time permits.

In addition if you continue on over the little bridge after Fords Reserve, the road becomes unsealed. The road passers through private lands either side and desends again. There are two gates to open and close into the National park. This same road leeds to a second camp ground DUMPHIES reserve NP, that is completely level. Is FULLY Grassed, Can accommodate twenty caravans plus campers. To spotless gas BBQ's and tables and drop toilet. One communal large fire pit for all to sit around. Access is all two wheel drive. This is my pick of the two. Photos to come.

One and half hours out of Sydney. Two with the van. Turn Left at Blackheath traffic lights ( town centre) over the rail crossing and follow the brown and white tourist signs. There are Tea rooms open daily till 5pm.

I never new it existed till Jades enquirey.

Regards Jim & Lambie
