We purchased ours thru eBay, but I have seen some info of being able to purchase it cheaper. Suggest you do a search on this forum for diesel heater...
Having said that we are quite happy with the unit and installation was quite easy...

It is the same heater that Pinnacle wholesale sells in OZ but you get it cheaper.
The only extras that were required were some hose clips and a fuel tank.
I purchased a 5lt tank from Supercheap and installed it in the front boot in a battery box. I didn't attach a muffler to the exhaust because after installing the heater and running it flat out, the most noise was coming from the air intake pipe under the van not the exhaust.
I mounted the heater under the the bed.Total cost was less than $600.
Regards Chris

We bought a diesel heater from Pinnacle for $820, complete with fuel tank. Installed it myself. Works like a dream in a 21ft van and can't leave it on high for too long. Do not put fuel pump under the bed, far to noisy. Better to have tank on rear bumper, where it can be filled from outside.
thanks for the information very informative the Tasmanian company has lots of great info Wanting to get it set up before we head south and it gets cold
BTW - it was from Pinnacle we purchased ours - package included the tank and also got the muffler from them, so don't know how noisy it is without the muffler. We can't hear the fuel pump either.
Put ours under a the L shaped lounge, with the Air intake near the door and outlet facing the sink. Works well. My only issues was the floor thickness was thicker than the supplied bolts. Suggest you read the installation instructions and check inside and under before cutting the floor hole!

Sorry to go off topic but I have just noticed that Neil and Lyn you live at Pinjarra so just wanted to let you know we were in that parrt of the world in November and we wish to express our shock at the fires you have had near you. It is a beautiful part of the world and to think so much has been lost through bush fires is just so so sad. I hope you were safe and didn't loose anything in the fires.

Thanks Chris, it certainly has been traumatic this past week with the loss of most of the township Yarloop & with it the lives two retired men. at it's closest the fire was around 25km from us with the prevailing wind taking it away so we weren't directly affected but it is still too close to home for comfort.
Yarloop was an old timber town which had a beautiful Steam Museum which has been destroyed along with the only pub, hall etc.
Cheers Neil

I knew that diesel heaters existed and when I enquired about getting one, the guy asked had I considered a gas?
"Never heard of it" says me.
Runs off existing van's gas bottle(s), no need for diesel tank on the front of the van, no need to carry a refill container of diesel or an oily funnel.
And you don't get your hands dirty.
Winner!!!
It paid for itself on the first few nights when we set off last August.
As Molly Meldrum would say;
Do yourself a favour.
Tip no.1
Ask them not to mount the exhaust outlet too close to the Jackmate lifting point on the side of the van.
I had to remove all of the heater's exterior exhaust plumbing to jack my caravan up on a 40 degree day half way across the Nullabor
