I am hoping someone can help i bought a new belt for the air conditioner on my Toyota Coaster the belt started slipping after it was fitted after i had driven about 200 k
is there any one who can advise me on how to stop the belt slipping it is a ribbed belt which should not slip yet this has happened at least 3 rimes and it costs $25 each time
Welcome John to this great forum this would get much better exposure in the techies section as its a techie question however
It seems that you have done this before with the same result so I would suggest that the pulley is worn out if you can poke a finger into the pulley groove where the belt runs it should be completely smooth I would suggest you will feel a groove or irregular surface there the only way you will stop the slipping is with a new pulley which will probably mean the whole air con clutch replacement
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news
Woody

The sirpentine belt maybe too long ? Not enough tension . Check the free travel on tensioner . Sirpentine belts unlike V belts don't last if they slip . Other than that idler pulley bearings or AC itself needs attention ..
Ahhh yes Aus-Kiwi I made the assumption that it was a simple "V" belt, you may well be on to it also the tensioner bearing may be worth a look is the belt wearing on its back or the drive Side before failing
