Clove our colarado. Was told by other to put in manual 4 x 4 when going up hills. We have had no trouble other than the size of our tyres. We have 16" and suggest having spare if going bush as we had to wait for one sent up from Melbourne as extra. Stuffed our other tyre completely.

This is interesting .
Are you talking about while on sealed roads ?
If so I would be very cautious about doing this unless you are told it is ok by the manufacturer. I am no expert on Colorados but most 4x4 systems will suffer catastrophically if driven on sealed roads while in 4wd. Again I'm no expert but please check before doing this .
Hi Newcomer, We have a Colorado 2013 LTZ 5 speed manual. Our van weighs 2400 kg approx when loaded, have done over 17000 k towing the van, so far have not had any problems to speak of, in fact half the time we don't even notice that we are towing the Van. Probably down the track might have to reinforce the back leaf springs as other members have already done, overall we are very happy with the Colorado. Bessie

I also Have a Colorado LS 4x4, surprised to hear you did Not get a Full spare as standard !! Also nothing wrong with having the standard 16 " rims, in some instances they are even better, and an awful lt cheaper when it comes to buying a new set of tyres !
Who ever ''the other'' was Who told you to use 4x4 and Manual position when going up hills ! That's ridiculous !! unless he meant if your were going up a very steep ascent on a dirt loose gravel road !! anything other than that, I would suggest that ''The Other' you were talking to !! May be better listening to advice, ! rather than giving it, !!
Other than that, I also am very happy with my Collie, Tows my Van [ 2700 kg loaded ] easily, and very stable, I tow at around 95 - 105 kph and last trip all towing averaged 13 25 Litres per 100, [ actual not computor ] and that was to Mount beauty, so had a few hills as well
Newcomer, I am a very happy 2013 Colli owner, only the 2 wd version 6 spd auto, van of similar size, last trip 10.000k 12.9 l per 100k and I dont hang about, leave it in auto and let it pick the best cog, surprised at how much boogie its got when needed... dirt or sealed.
Love my Colo. But NEVER leave the keys inside and the windows up. VERY easy to lock the keys in, despite what Holden will tell you. It seems to lock itself after a certain time. Good truck otherwise.
Cheers, Tony
