Broome in August/September is a very special place. Despite what some people say on this forum Broome is a very magical location and has a lot to offer no matter what your budget dictates.
We spent 10 days in Broome parked up at Roebuck Bay @ $49 per night. This is on the water front and the only park in Broome located on the water. Yes, I hear people screaming about the Council owned run down park and the high incidence of break ins etc. But you know what, if you are half smart and have some sense about you then you will not become a crime statistic.
Talk to the locals, find out the best fish & chips, visit Cable Beach, take the "Mail Run" to Cape Leveque, try Cygnet Bay for South sea pearls. Try a cold beer at Matso's and visit the markets.
