Hi, being new to the Nomads, I have recently purchased a second hand motorhome in which there was a 'Command Power' 950 2 strokePetrol Generator (it is a bright blue unit with black). Knowing nothing about generators, I was wondering if there is anyone out there who may know where I can obtain a manual/instruction sheet on this particular unit. I have searched the internet but to no avail and the previous owners do not have any instruction either.
Its a typical 2 stroke Genny Ive used one for years now & if you want il scan the owners manual & post here for you. There will be people here who don't like them But ive never had any trouble with mine, & it gets used a lot for power outages.
This is The owners manual they were sold under a lot of re badged names. There is more if you want them, they are parts listings & blow up of the motor & Gen if you want them.
There is a few tricks to using this type of Generator. As they aren't Automatic Voltage Regulated, the voltage will go high if the engine over revs as in running it out of fuel (DONT). If storing geny drain the fuel from the carby rather than run it out of fuel as theres a drain screw. Also run a 100W incandesant lamp on the generator as this will absob voltage spikes & stabilise the voltage. Ive run a Hitachi computer controlled washing machine off mine on power failures with no problems. Also run my household fridge on power outages.
Now this was a good post, the question asker got all the info they wanted and more, there wasn,t one negative word ,good to see everybody positive for once ,well done everyone.
OLLEY, I WAS VERY SURPRISED TO GET ALL THE INFORMATION I NEEDED ON THE GENERATOR. I HAVE TAKEN THE SCANNED DOCUMENTS AND SAVED THEM TO A FILE ON MY COMPUTER AND VERY HAPPY TO HAVE IT FINALLY
THE FORUMS HAVE A LOT OF GOOD INFORMATION SPECIALLY FOR NEWFOLK LIKE MYSELF WHO REALLY DON'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT IT ALL YET.
Hey Peter. Great to hear from a happy relatively new member of the Forum who asked a question and got all the info. As Olley said - nice to see no flack flying over for a change :)))
I'm sure we will all look forward to meeting you on our travels for a cuppa or whatever

Bruce, thanks for the welcome etc. We are looking forward to getting on the road but a few things to finalise and make sure we are all okay to take off.
Hope we can see you somewhere along the way in our travels.
