SatLink Australian satellite files

Hi All,

I have just written this in another thread, my mistake. I will now start again.

I have a Sat Link 6906, and it is not working, as it does not show any satellites at all. I contacted Satlink, and they said (I think, as they are very vague)they were going to send me the update file, so the device will work. alas, that was some weeks ago, and nothing has arrived, and they will not answer anymore emails!!

So, my question is does anyone have that file that I can install on this device, as obviously I dont think I will get anywhere with this company.

And Yes, I have tried to download it from their site, and it doesnt work, what a surprise!

My apologies for the cynicism, but I am not very happy, because I have a device that is useless as it is.

Hope someone is able to help me.

Thanks Shandi

Hi everyone,

The issue with various satfinders is this- some like the WS 6906 are not capable of decoding the DVB-S2 signal so they are set up to find a Free to Air channel such as AlJazeera which is broadcast in DVB-S format which these meters can decode. These meters can also decode the Foxtel signal which has a download frequency of 12438MHz.

Meters such as the SF3239 and the newer "Devisor" meter are able to decode the DVB-S2 signal so they can lock on to the Vast download frequency of 12567MHz

Hope that helps

Frank
