Helpful tip, I think.

This is a fabulous little radio for anybody on the move. I have had one for about 18 months, which mostly sits on top of my computer and I get the latest ABC news and Tony Delroy etc each night while playing Solitaire etc. I keep it charged with a USB plug, about once every 2 weeks, but you can charge it with the crank handle or the solar charger on top. You can also charge your mobile phone with it and a host of other features.

It has an emergency siren, and 3 LED torch amongst all its features.

Your choice mate, I am up to 400 transactions on E-bay over the last 12 or so years, and not a single problem. I couldn't imagine how much money I have saved, but each to his own.

''Crank up to charge'' radios with all those features have been around for 20 years or more. We bought one from Aussie Disposals years ago, it was a piece of rubbish. Did more cranking than listening. frustrated.gif

Gday...

I assume this is the one from Aussie Disposals you refer to DD ?

I have had my one for seven years and it works flawlessly.

It can be charged by cranking (bloody hard work cry), plugging the cord into the USB socket on the laptop, or keeping it in the sun so the inbuilt solar panels charge it.

I keep it charged by keeping the solar panels on the top exposed to the sun when I use it outside - which is the only place I use it as the van has a 12V radio installed.

I have only ever used the crank to charge when I first got it - which is why I know it is damned had yakka. cry

If kept well charged from the little solar panels, it lasts for ages even when the sun has gone down.

Cheers - John

Simmo - that radio is made by Degen.....I've had a Degen DE1100 for over 6 years and it's been such a good radio I bought another last Xmas just in case they stop making them so I have to agree with you.
Regards

Yes Dennis, I was just trying to be helpful, but the 2%ers keep coming out from under their logs. This one is a DE 13.

Cheers  Simmo.

No John, ours was a much older model than that, it's probably an antique compared to your good one. Solar wasn't around when we bought ours.

It must have been in the dim dark days when there was no solar around.
