Revamping the interior of my van - tips please?

Hi everyone

Not sure if this is the right forum if not please tell me where I should post.

We have a 1983 Windsor Windcheater small 13ft van   -  The van interior is original and looking tired and dated - lots of brown timber stained plywood (walls, cupboards).

I want to freshen it up and like the idea of green/white theme.  I've removed the blinds/curtains and replaced with white slimline venetian blinds ( looks FAB).  And will remove the old floor vinyl and replace with a black/white square pattern.

Today DH removed the bedhead boards at the rear of the van and found that they had been glued (looks like Liquid Nails) and it has  left marks and some of the timber plywood finish damaged :(

I am thinking of covering the damage with another sheet of plywood painted white (with a plastic trim around the edge) but want to add some green - so it will be a feature wall panel.  Any suggestions for a pattern?

I've tried to find designs of the interior of similar renovated Windcheaters and have had no luck - any suggestions where I should look for ideas?

I would ideally like to paint the interior white with green trim (cupboard doors/drawers) but DH said no and suggested I just paint the cupboard doors and drawers white and the knobs green - what do you think?

This is a FAB group and very helpful with previous questions.

Thanks for reading and any suggestions welcome.

Hi, I like your idea of freshening the van up, but no real subjestions. Take your time check where electrical wires are, take a few photos of before and as you go for latter on references.

Our van has a lot of medium timber stains with grey vinyl around the pop top join, white ceiling then a brown covers on the lounge, real earthy look and hides a bit dust or dirt.

We find its very relaxing van. Not to light and not to dark.

We had some inside panel damage and the repairer cut section of similar veneer panel and glued them onto of the damaged section, I be darned if I can pick the work he has done.

It was a great cover up.

If you see any bare exterior from inside jam in some insulation, sealatic any holes you find to prevent dust ingress.

Best of luck with your refurb.

Hi Radar

many thanks for your reply - nothing major planed just a freshen up for now.

I was hoping someone could tell me of a website or links for ideas and/or what others have done to revamp their older vans.

I have a small budget but I can't be the only one wanting to do this.

DH wants to know where to purchase a small table (table top & single pole) for inside the van  - our van doesn't have one :(

cheers

Julieanne

Hi Julieanne,

With your table leg and top I would suggest looking at "Award RV's " Website. A huge range of Caravan and Motorhome stuff. Also look at a company called 'BLA' They have an online catalogue of all things Nautical and supply all the boating and marine items to people like BCF

This is the link to BLA.

http://bla.com.au/default/info-centre/product-catalogues

This is the link to Award RV's

http://www.awardrv.com.au/

I am sure you can find what you are looking for on these sites. With the BLA catalogue anything you want to buy BCF will get in for you from the BLA catalogue.

Award do their own posting/courier stuff.

Award RV's are in Ferntree Gully  Melbourne.

I have no connection with either company except I have purchased items from Both Award RV's and BLA through BCF.
