Took a shortcut once - a two hour trip ended up taking about six hours - ran off a gravel road on a corner, hit a tree, hubby says, hop out and see where we are, lucky I looked down - eight feet below was water - we were straddling a ditch - camper trailer on the back - had to be dragged out sideways, bent the chassis, had to hold steering wheel tight to keep it straight. Was closer to our destination tha home, so carried on - then kids got attacked at the playground, then it rained, we packed up and hobbled home.
Worst short cut ever taken!!!

We've spoken to lots of fellow travellers that have been directed on ''short cuts'' by their sat navs. Some of them 100's of kms out of their way. That's why we still use trusty paper maps.

Goals accomplished through taking shortcuts are never as satisfying as those obtained through hard work, persistence, and dedication.
When you know you have earned your success through sheer effort, a deep sense of satisfaction and fulfillment can be found, try convincing kids of today that this is so, seems to be a case of What do we want? everything, when do we want it? now, in other words instant gratification.
