I have 5 weeks off before I hand over my job of 24 years at the end of Jan - I retire on 5Feb. We have a week at Inskip Point planned with our Grand-daughter but after she goes home we don't really want to stay at Inskip for Xmas and New Year. We are thinking of heading to Wuruma Dam on about 13Dec. I realise it's school holidays and it will be hot, but has anyone been there during Dec? Was it totally crazy? Any other other suggestions of boating locations for this time of year?
Can't wait to get back on the road and catch up with many of you who we have already met, and those who we are still to meet!
Cheers

Just back from the dam last week. Two weeks right beside the water, fairly crowded but ok.
The dam is nearly full and the water lovely and clear. A lot of weed close to the shore but swimable.
Crays are good and some nice fish landed. Storms were a worry but nothing bad while we were there.
Be aware of dry trees overhead.
Can't relate to holidays and numbers of people but if you want a waterside site by best advise is to go and camp for a few days and wait for a waterside vacancy.
Weather was hot, up to 35c. one day but comfortable in the van. Swimming on the boat ramp was excellent.
