Thanks for the update KJ - so glad we are not heading int heat direction yet. We are in Albany, and the weather here is beautiful.
Howdy jules47, I think you are in the best part of the world at the moment,
We will be making tracks down there ourselves in the near future, as soon as it gets to hot here in Perth, we will be off,
We had planed to go over to Esperance and travel further East, fantastic white beaches about 100 km further on but, it looks like the South Coast will be pretty black after all the fires have been through that area.
maybe we will meet up somewhere, who knows,
K.J.

Hey KJ. Agree about those beaches - all the silica sand squeaking under your feet and the turquoise coloured water - beautiful - just avoid December and January with the 100s of RVs that flood the area.
We're out on a farm at Brookton which is almost directly east in from Perth about 2.5 hours drive in the wheat belt. We don't get the Freo doctor, if we're lucky we get what the locals call the Albany doctor.
Currently we get all the smoke from the fires down south from about 4pm onwards. Last night it was so bad you couldn't see the sheep in the closest paddock (a bugger for us Kiwis lol) and the sun was a deep blood red. It was so dense it made you cough if you stayed outside too long and would have been bad for those with lung diseases

G'day Bruce and Bev, It's now wonder there is smoke in everyone's eyes, with all the Bushfires burning around the State at the present time,
You probably saw on tonight's news just how bad the smoke is here in the Metro at the present time, it's enough to make one hook-up and take off to some clear sunny shore, where ever that is in this Big State, Bleedin Bushfires everywhere.!!!
I was listening to the fire services dispatcher on the scanner yesterday, they were run off their feet for quiet a period, starting early in the morning and continuing through the day, and to think, it's not even officially Summer yet, What's to come. ????????
P.S. No mention of a kiwi looking at sheep in the next paddock.
