"Drive on, there is nothing to see here!" It seems that this is what this young wedge tail is saying with the side glance of his eyes and his talons firmly on his possession. "This is my food and you ain't about to take it from me."

Because the road kill was so close to the side of the road we decided to stop and shift it into the grass more. The bird did fly off into the nearby paddock, but as soon as we returned to the car and started to move off, the bird was back to possess his meal. Two hours later on our return journey he was still there feeding.
