Been in Tassie 7 days looking for place to buy. Stayed at Cooee C P till today. Moved to Stanley Cabin and C P. Weather much nicer. Lovely park. $30/ night. Worth it. Took chairlift up to top of The Nut today and did 2 km walk, then another half km down the zig zag track to carpark as chairlift had closed for the day. Caught up with Cowboy7307 and dING for useful chats. Looked at lots of properties but haven't found THE ONE yet. 2 more to look at on Monday. Cheers, .... Val
Have found a place just out of Smithton, on 5 acres, after looking at many in Burnie area (too steep and lots of blackberries), Penguin, Wynyard and lots in Smithton. Hope this is THE ONE. Am going to see local Council with a list of queries today. If it all sounds good, will make an offer on it. Will certainly catch up with you Blaze as local knowledge is most valuable. Will give you a ring later today. Keeping my fingers crossed. By the way, I think Smithton is a lovely town with all the shops and services I believe I will need, and only 22 kms from Stanley (where I am staying at the moment, which has HEAPS of stuff to see and do).
