I don't know of any who sits looking and waiting all day. However some of us do leave the computer on and have a look at it every now and again as we pass. Other members do spend many productive hours working on computers and check a forum or three as a break from their work periodically. Most members who ask questions look in at least daily (or should) until the tread has been answered.
The extra bit of info I have is - you should be able to dribble the fuel into the tank slowly until the fuel comes up the neck of the filler far enough to see it. You will have to keep stopping as the froth comes to the top and waiting until the bubbles burst. Then rock the vehicle to dislodge any air locks and repeat the filling. When you have the tank chockers then you will be able to check the calibration of your fuel gauge.
As a new owner you will probably have noted that diesel fuel has more detergent in it than petrol and it will froth up much more than petrol.
