Can any jayco owner tell me when you take delivery of their van. Do they give you full gas bottles to start with or do we have to add to our shopping list.
I thought they they must if they test every thing before delivery.
Our Avan caravan came with 2 full 4.5kg gas bottles & half a tank of water (behind the axle) to balance the vans ball weight to a reasonable 160kg. Most makers would do something similar.

I would hope that the gas bottles on any caravan would be full on new delivery. They have to test the gas systems for leaks, so how can they do it without gas (apart from real penny pinching by using a full bottle then replacing it with an empty one). Even so, it is worth checking.

1.. Check with the dealer you take delivery of the van from.
2.. "How do they do it without gas?" Air is a gas. It is quite common for the installers to pressurise the system with gas and see if it maintains that pressure for a given time. They can give the system a better test that way as they can pump up the air pressure to a higher level (at least some do that.) The LPG bottles are not installed until the system has been proven.
3.. Take nothing for granted. Ask your delivery agent everything you are unsure of.

Took delivery of a new Jayco Silverline yesterday. Has just about every mod con you can think of, yes both gas bottles full. Putting a ladder up against the side revealed a dirty and roughly sealed roof. The person who installed the solar panels had sealant an their fingers, and its over the cells of the panel, so I have a clean up job to do.
One thing which I am a bit disappointed with is security to the hatches, the keys are basically key blanks with one notch cut out for a tumbler, I reckon a child could pick them.
The grey water tank is what I expected, a normal water tank with pipe work modified for the purpose. I think it will become a third water tank now, and I will install my own system, This one cant be cleaned out, no removable large caps to get into the tank with. reckon I will be looking at the 150mm PVC pipes idea with screw on end caps for this job.
On the good side its pretty amazing what they have built into the deal, apart from a bit of tidying up its quite well made.
Just adding to my previous comment, the van also came with a NSW compliant breakaway unit, complete with a wireless battery monitor and a 240v battery charger for the gel battery.
Migra, when I have the van on a flat surface I will post the number plate position to the closest mm. a rough check shows the centre of the number plate about 800mm off the ground.
