So if you want to stay in Bundaberg at a no frills location in the future you will have to become a CMCA ( Ken Tame? Australia ) member. so is the Bundaberg Mayor a CMCA member.

He's only a would be mayor and as he lost his state seat at the last election he can't be all that popular with voters.
HE is not a CMCA member &his choice for a site is between the 2 bridges over nth. Much closer to town than Agro Trend. We shall see what happens after the Dec council meeting. The Mayor has to get a majority vote for anything which he is not getting at the moment-or so he told us last Friday at the meeting 3 of us had with him in Bundaberg. Time will tell. I for one am not infavour of a CMCA controlled site but if that happens, then I guess travellers might have to pay the $25 m'ship? As we have relatives & friends in Bundy this problem does not affect us at all but hope something happens for others.
Gee you guys are a scream, I've never heard so much BS as is being posted here. If we all got out there and spent as much time promoting and negotiating re Freedom of choice camping as we do knocking everything and anything to do with it we would all be better off.
I'm the bald headed guy who was in the interview with Jack Dempsey so lets look at some FACTS!
"he can't be all that popular with voters." In a poll conducted by the News Mail after he announced his candidacy he had 81% support.
"So if you want to stay in Bundaberg at a no frills location in the future you will have to become a CMCA ( Ken Tame? Australia ) member" Are you serious?? The interview was to announce just one of his proposals to take to the election and that was for the whole region to become RV Friendly, the proposed CMCA RV Park fully funded by it's own members at no cost to the community is just one part of it. Whether you want to become a member and benefit from the clubs member only benefits is entirely up to you. Why bitch about it, do you expect the NRMA or the RACQ to provide its benefits to non members.
As Oma says they spoke to the present Mayor and according to a report in Caravanning News he says ""We had a very fruitful two-way conversation and look forward to further discussions to see where things lead," Councillor Forman told Caravanning News after Friday's lunchtime meeting. "I didn't make any promises ... it has to be the majority of council who support this."
Bundaberg has for many years had a fairly RV Unfriendly reputation and even now there are sign up everywhere "No Overnight Stays" There are sites around the region but all well away from the town and hence well away from any caravan park of which the council owns four of them.
So what if one of the successful proposal is a fully funded park by the CMCA, at least that would be a breakthrough in the anti culture of this council and just might be the catalyst to start hauling down these no overnight stays signs. It's about time the RV community became a bit positive instead of all the constant knocking regardless of what we drive or tow.
So if you want to stay in Bundaberg at a no frills location in the future you will have to become a CMCA ( Ken Tame? Australia ) member. so is the Bundaberg Mayor a CMCA member.

If you can't beat them, Join Them, as the saying goes.
A lot of the 'dump points' are subside by the CMCA or do you not use them as you are obviously not a member. But they are open for use by everyone.
Members of CMCA are entitled to a discount/ special terms by Ken Tame if they decide to arrange their insurance through them. Ken Tame does not own the CMCA.
As it happens CMCA are trying to arrange sites for use for their members, ( with certain restrictions) , so do not object to the CMCA trying to benefit their own members.
if you don't wish to join them that is your choice.
Every one is entitled to choose, but please do not object to those 'clubs' that work at improving the benefits for their members.
Colin.
ps I am a member of the CMCA, happy to be so, and I don't use Ken Tame for my insurance. But then that is my choice.
