What detergent to use in a small twin tub machine

Hi all

Being of the bloke persuasion and with little knowledge of the use and misuse of these machines I thought I would ask for expert advice.
But I decided to ask here too

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-PORTABLE-MINI-WASHING-MACHINE-5KG-SPIN-CYCLE-DRYER-TWIN-TUB-CARAVAN-PICNICS-/231305091808?hash=item35dadb9ae0:g:OYkAAMXQVT9TFCKW

I read previous posts and decided to purchase a twin tub off eBay. Seems hundreds sold and no negative feedback and at $119 delivered a bargain.
Before it arrives, what detergent should I be looking at?
Wool wash? or others.
And do I use fabric softener?
Do I need to rinse in fresh water before spinning?

Phew

That will do for the moment.

They are bloody hard work, Wauri.

You fill, wash, put clothes in spinner. Empty water in tub, fill, clothes back in, rinse, back into the spin.

God, it brings back memories.

You can use any detergent. I'd use a liquid as I feel it rinses out easier. You can use softener.

We use eucalyptus wool type . As spinning out isn't an issue . As in if some detergent is left in clothing ...

we bought the single cheap plastic washer.. So far on two trips it's done ok .. Like any of these things it's storage, weight..

Yes I read that thread
Thanks
I was unimpressed with the park washers on my last trip
Sometimes the clothes seemed to come out dirtier
So i get a little more self contained

And its another toy so I may win yet

Use wool wash then no need to rinse before spin drying.

If you are ever near Pinjarra, go to The Odd Angry Sock Laundromat. It has to be the best in Australia! Unbelievably clean and run by a really helpful lady. I took my washing in to do put it in the washing machine The lady asked if I had anything to do and she would put it in the dryer for me. When I got back she'd dried and folded it and had ironed all my shirts! No charge!

Now that's better than any twin tub!

The question what is best? - The answer; It is best to soak washing (clothes only not linen and towels) in generic nappy san in a sealed bucket whilst travelling as it cleans the grease and dirt completely off. I have found that washing everything with "Cuddly" is best in small van machine - it obviates the need for extra rinse.
