CLR in the loo cassette

hi gang,

we are going on our cruise tomorrow and I was thinking of putting CLR in the loo cassette to give it a clean, has anyone done this? If so did it damage the plastic Or cause issues with the cassette? Thanks

BTW we are off on the voyager of the seas for 13 nights cruising NZ and New Caledonia, and Vanuatu. biggrin

Cheers

Are we a gang now?

Phil I have used a similar product in my cassette but it was only in there for 24 hrs. no damage to anything and very clean inside.

I would think if you wanted to leave it in for 2 weeks you might want to water it down quite a bit.

Mate enjoy the cruise, are you taking mrs PhilC? no wait ignore that question.

Have a great time

frank

I thought as as much about CLR, I will put a few ml in and let it sit, then hit it hard for a day when we get back.

Cheers buddy, hope you are behaving, I enjoyed the hangerswink

cheers

CLR is a pretty ''active'' liquid, there's no that way we would be putting it anywhere near plastic. Particularly a retaining tank for a loo! It's a bit like paint stripper or grease remover!

I agree with you Desert Dweller - no way would I put it in the cassette, and especially not leave it in there for a few weeks!!!! Pretty Toxic stuff.

CLR is great for cleaning the scale from the toilet cassette Phil. I use it after our annual trip away, however have only used it in the cassette for 24 hours at any one time. While plastics are fairly sophisticated these days,I couldn't recommend using it for an extended length of time.In saying that it comes in a plastic container,so what the hell, give it a go.You will probably have it watered down any way.

I think that Clr is maybe too strong to leave in canister for two weeks .
I have used nappysan a cap full in ours ,filled it with water and have left it in for two months once, beautiful and clean with no damage .

Who cares if the inside of the cassette is sparkling, or not?
I don't inspect our sewer pipes at home.

Cheers,
Peter

As a matter of interest, it comes in a plastic container and claims to be septic safe.

No I don't use it, have not seen the need.

I can see fairly well into our old cassette .. The plastic in this case is very water repellant like silicon ..
It washes out really good with just water and the pink rose smelly flushing additive..
