Wood dust in van

we have had our Bailey Valencia for just over 12 months. Every time we go to use it, there appears to be small piles of wood dust sometimes interspersed with little black dots. We have assumed it may be coming from ants and last time when we packed up the van, my husband sprayed thoroughly around the outside. This time away, we have only seen one or two ants inside. Sometimes the wood dust is just that - dust. Other times it is tiny flakes. Just wondering if any other creature could be causing this.

Try Borax and Honey mixture. If It's ants this will eliminate them. Place in milk top caps.

I hope it's not borers or white ants either. A bit of detective work would suggest the invaders are getting stuck into the black tape around the wiring - hence the black crumbs I am seeing. Will take aggressive action.

Most likely very small black ants just got them out of mine again.  while home use fortune 500 spray around anything contacting the ground.  they move into the roof cavity to nest thus causing the 'dust'.    i had to lower the light fittings and speakers to be able to spray surface spray into ceiling '

if they were borers that were imported with the timber the dust is normally only one color.  if this were the case i would be contacting the dealer,or maker of van .  because only treatment is total fumigation. or a heat treatment depending on type of borer.

hope you only have a few black ants.  after you stop them getting in it is a matter of keep spraying them as they will continue to live somewhere in the van.

Back home after every trip before storage and whilst touring every few weeks we use a bug bomb.

Open all internal cupboards, doors and drawers and set off one of these in the middle of the floor and then depart for 4 hours.
