I am not a badge of honour, I am not a racist smear, I am not a fashion statement, To be worn but once a year, I am not glorification Of conflict or of war. I am not a paper ornament A token, I am more.
I am a loving memory, Of a father or a son, A permanent reminder Of each and every one.
I'm paper or enamel I'm old or shining new, I'm a way of saying thank you, To every one of you.
I am a simple poppy A Reminder to you all, That courage faith and honour, Will stand where heroes fall.
Well done . I am very proud to be a true blue aussie. Myself my family and friends would not or could not be able to enjoy a free and happy lifestyle without honouring the great sacrifice that was made by our many young service men and woman. LEST WE FORGET
A nice and timely reminder of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Peter & Margaret, I love the photo you have put up of Lone Pine with the poppies. My great uncle's name is on that wall, he was KIA on ANZAC Day 1915, and each time we see the ANZAC Day service from there, behind the dias you can actually see his name on the wall.
Thanks
