I watched a video on YouTube a little while back, and one of the tips this bloke had for camping was to use bread bag clips for clothes pegs. I thought it was a neat idea, but it would take a while to collect a useful amount. But, they normally just get thrown out and they are nice and compact, so not a bad idea.

Can also be used if your thong pulls out of the sole of the shoe - put a bread clip on the underneath, instant fix!
A couple of drops of superglue works well on thongs too, even if the nodule on the end of the strap has broken off. I'm wearing a pair of superglued thongs right now

After being caught short when my much repaired thongs broke on one trip, I now always carry at least one spare pair. I try to always get the same sort (from Target) so that I can mix and match when one breaks.
SWMBO insists on single color plastic pegs eg. all pink. I'd never get away with bread bag clips.
