I hate to admit this but earlier this week I was backing up my driveway which slopes upwards and has a brick wall and brick piers on one side, hit the wall which moved one of the piers somewhat but worse caused over $3,000 worth of damage to my vehicle......I just couldn't believe it!
Oh well Vic, 2015 is been a pretty shocking year for you - health, leaks inside and out (the house, not you) then deciding to impress some young bird walking past by reversing up the driveway at 30kmh !!!!!!
Mate, you'll be in 1st name basis with your Insurance company. Think its time to sell up and hit the road !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The neck probably doesn't twist as well as it used to Vic, believe it or not I find it easier to back the caravan these days than a car with nothing on the back. Because I can see it better in the Mirrors

Mate, at least it was only your car that got damaged and not you. Although it is a pain in the behind, and expensive, it could have been a lot worse. Like this poor bugger Man Injured in Garage Collapse.

Thanks everyone for all the other comments also. When backing out of my narrow carport, I have to watch my side mirrors to make sure they don't get knocked off by the side door pillars of the carport, also checking to make sure there are no pedestrians walking across the driveway (a path is at the top end), so somehow failed to notice I was so close to the wall, driving very slowly too.
Not making excuses but I will have to be more careful in future, and yeh, the neck doesn't swivel like it used to
We've just been watching an article on TV that stated that most accidents that involve people over 75 years of age are caused by the over 75 person. Probably true. Luckily we've just reached 65.
Sorry to read about your car damage.

Thanks DD, probably true, I'm 74 so perhaps my Waterloo came earlier
You're right there about time speeding up Landy, pity the body doesn't, goes slower...
I've had a few close calls on the road (in my father's new car) which I blame on the "things are closer than they appear" side mirrors. Whose stupid idea was that? I don't want to see where the traffic was a second ago. I want to see where it is now.

Yes I'm not keen on those either Dorian. I just hope my "on road" driving doesn't get to the point where I am a threat to other motorists or cyclists/pedestrians etc, any more of this I will have to consider hanging up the keys, hopefully before any damage or worse is done to others.
But I don't feel that time has come yet, just need to be more alert when I'm driving etc.
C'mon Vic - youre not in the ground yet my friend !
Your mind is still sharp, even though the body is wearing out (like all of us oldies) and at least you still know that you will stop driving when you know you maybe a threat to others.
Unfortunately, there are many others who do not. My mother drove until she turned 91 (just down to the shops and the like), then decided that she was fit to drive anymore - had her license cancelled and gave her car to one of her grandchildren. Her neighbor who is a few years younger, couldn't accept she was past driving and once (and only once) my mother went down to the shop with her. Instead of turning into the correct entry to the shopping centre carpark, she drove along a public footpath and then went into the carpark exit shouting and carrying on at all the vehicles coming out. She then drove into a carpark and hit another car in front. Then blamed the driver - who wasn't even there - for the accident.
Thankfully my mother left a note with her ph no on the other cars windscreen and when they got home (only bouncing one set of red traffic lights), she phoned her neighbours doctor and spoke to him. He then phoned the neighbour under a pretext and got her in the next day, examined her and cancelled her license because of "eye sight" reasons
