Gas supply to gas cooker

Can anybody help us with gas supply problems to our gas cooker, the flame at gas rings is minute.  We have renewed the regulator to we believe the correct one available and the gas fitter adjusted the gas spply pressure and for a couple of days it was very cood but it is now back to a very minute flame.

We had a similar problem. Does yours have a lift up cover over the hot plates. Ours does and there is a pop up valve that was sticking It's a safety. Thing so if the top is closed while a burner is on it shuts the gas off. If you have an oven the stove cover needs to be open before it will light.

I've had the same problem for many years but have never gotten around to trying to fix it.  They do work but just a bit slow.

A new regulator fixed the hot water system but not the burner rings.  The oven works OK though.

I'll watch this thread for ideas.

ps. My Son the Plumber/Gas fitter always promises to have a look at it but never gets around to it!!!!!  A chip off the old block perhaps.

Thank you Mutt. You are correct. Before I saw your post I rang the Swift Cooker people who gave me that answer immediately. Must be a common problem. I have freed it up temporarily, but the staff from Swift will send me a new valve which I will need to get replaced by a gasfitter. Some silicon spray has helped greatly pro. tem !! Yes Cupie ,we have also had the regulator replaced at great expense at Alice Springs in May ,then had another gas fitter adjust some things a couple of weeks ago. Whilst they were playing around, the valve came up very slowly and by the time they had finished it had popped up so they thought they had fixed the problem, but neither thought about the safety valve being stuck. Now at the end of our 6 mth holiday , we have the answer!!! Thanks again Wendy
