Used CT18 for  years and years, good product.

If you have very greasy bugs (ie locusts) or bitumen marks,,,  use say 1 capful of CT18 and 1 or 2 capfuls of kero in 200ml of water.

Wash the bugs off and rinse off the kero thoroughly.

Experiment first if very shiny new gelcoat to make sure it doesn't mark.

Used  CT18 on front of interstate truck ,spray on and leave overnight hit the truck with the hose next day the locus  bugs just fall off, over years of use paint will go chalky.

CT20 wash and wax. Hose off straight away. Use it on the cars as well. leaves a smooth finish.

Another vote for ct20. Have used it on all my cars and caravans for last 10 years. Great product

If it is really stubborn try to spray a bit of degreaser on to it

But hose it down right away and give the area a quick polish were the degreaser has hit

Another thing to try use the netting bag from Oranges with water and CT 20 if right it wont damage the paint

Don't use the Kitchen scorchie's that will for sure damage the paint

that's a mistake that many people will make

Cheers John

Is the Bars Bugs still around ? I use that with a little bit of seperate warm water..
In bad areas I polish with a wax so it doesn't become porous .. Before a trip if I remember..
Good ole Kerro in with your wash and wax water helps ...

I once actually read the owners manual for my new Holden. It recommended that the way to remove bugs from glass and paintwork etc was to dissolve something like a tablespoon of bicarb of soda in about a litre of water. Apply liberally with a brush and allow to sit a few minutes and then rinse of with clean water. Have done it ever since, works a treat. In fact did it on my Amarok last weekend.

Thanks for all the helpful tips here in answer to the posted question. I have found it very useful as I didn't know about CT18 or the BiCarb method. This should make my life easier. Tar.
