Has anyone experienced any problems with the fuel tank in the picture? ie: light weight construction, leaks, poor seal on cap. Your feedback greatly appreciated.
I would avoid steel tanks due to corrosion.
Try this guy in Turkey. He has free delivery to Australia and provides excellent service.. dieselheaters4u.com/index.html He has a UK Ebay shop.
(We met him in Turkey when we visited in 2013).
I have one of these tanks fitted in the front boot of our van and cannot fault it, I mounted it upright and can fill it from a bowser if needed, but mostly fill from a 5 litre can.
Check here for fuel cells .. You don't require the foam filled ... http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_odkw=solar+fan&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR11.TRC1.A0.H0.Xfuel+cell.TRS0&_nkw=fuel+cell&_sacat=0
I bought a 5lt. yellow diesel fuel tank from Supercheap cost $19.50 a small battery box of eBay cost $17.50 and mounted the tank etc. in the front boot. Total cost $37.00 plus some small hose clips.
I modified the filler which comes with the container.
The Webasto and Eberpacher heaters are generally listed in catalogues without diesel tanks. That is because they have the option to be used from a small tank or for motorhomes they have the option of a 'T' piece to hook into the trucks fuel line or a take-off from the main tank. The tank that Mike pictured is the one that most fitters use if a separate tank is installed. Some suppliers may however offer a heater plus tank kit price.
