The Pyros are going to be out in force this coming Summer. Keep your eyes peeled.
If you get an idiot lighting a campfire near you on a hot day, walk over & tell 'em to put it out. Better to be safe than sorry.

Just come through that part of the world, so much bush burnt off, never seen it like that in 30 years. Always wonder where the wildlife goes to escape??
Been early morning driving to beat the heat & very little moving about, had to break for one Skippy only from Kunna's to Hedland. Plenty of cattle around Derby way but no natives.

Came through there a month ago, and whilst we were on our way up the Stuart highway to Katherine we heard about the bush fires near Fitzroy Crossing in WA, a week later we were parked up for as couple of nights on Ngupan Cliff rest area, and the western horizon was black pall of smoke S to North, after dark western horizon was glowing red..., West of Fitzroy crossing most was burnt out to Derby Turnoff, still a lot of area/ logs smoking.
Nothing on fire down Broome way when we went though there a few days later. But then again it doesn't take much, just one idiot to throw a butt out the window. We were coming up near Devils Marbles the fortnight before and as we came around a bend here was a small grass fire right on the left verge about 500mm in dia just getting started, a car going the other way pulled up just as I started to stop and put it out. could have been huge in that country.
