Posts and which section to Post in.

Seems to be some very intolerant people around.

The General Forum.

Seek Advice.

Exchange Tips.

Share experiences about the Grey Nomad lifestyle.

If we all thought the same we wouldn't need a forum at all. Everyone has different ideas about almost every subject under the sun

Looks to me that the general Forum encompasses almost everything about the whole Grey Nomad lifestyle.

It may be handy to have a Tech section and Subjects like Greens lake for those wishing to have ideas on specific subjects but we are all here because we find things out about the lifestyle, others experiences, get advice even make friends and keep in touch.

Do we really need posts about where someone has (In their View) put a post.

Please be tolerant, someone's post may be asking for advice and in their view a "General" question and in someone else's a "Technical" question. We are all here to be entertained get advice and share experiences. Too much bother to, as they say "Sweat the small stuff"

My two Bob's worth.!

Why not a couple of changes?

Grey Nomads - General Forum.
Remove Grey Nomads, its already there. Sort of doubles up, but add:- anything about RVs and camping, even bordering on technical.

Techies corner anything on RVs, and camping thats technical

I Digress - Want to talk about something unrelated to RVs and camping, whatever's on your mind.

Trevor - I agree with you 110% !!!!!!!!!!!!

Better to get people posting that nothing at all and sadly new posts and comments have dropped off hugely over the past year. Few people are posting and it seems that only a hardcore of a few doing it (sorry - but that includes me) and often theyre only posting to keep this Forum alive and not dying. I know I would post less if more people could be bothered - surely they have something to say that's interesting, funny, a recollection or instructional/informative

Just look at a post and then the number of people who have read them and how few have bothered to leave a comment.

Better to post, even in the wrong section, than not to post at all..........

WOW, so many people wanting to pull some of us oldies into line. If I was 8 years old and not looking the right way in the school assembly, chat me. BUT I am a bit past 8 years, and if I bend the rules a little bit to get the most attention, is that a hanging crime? I joined this site about 3 weeks or so ago for a bit of fun and entertainment, but if I am going to get chatted every time I call Dark Blue Light Blue, I might as well go and join a suicide forum.

And Jokes and all things funny in the Just Joking section, instead of I Digress.

Totally agree with you there. I try not to post too often, as you know my numbers have soared above the clouds. Then when I do start a topic on my ventures I get about 200 lookers and 2 comments. Hardly worth the effort.

About time some of the newer ones contributed, but please don't get your knickers in a knot when US oldies correct you on something.

Young Simmo, that's a bit rich. You have been here 3 weeks and in that time made same major contributions, have thoroughly enjoyed reading them.

Don't be offended when someone who has been here a very long time offers advice and helps correct your little mistakes. . We were all newbies once.

Yes, some of us like to assist others in getting the best assistance. There are a lot of us who concentrate on a particular forum or two, people who don't sit on the computer all day tend to attend to the parts they are best are able to assist. If people place their questions in the wrong forum then they will not get answers from people who could otherwise assist.

If we do happen find threads in the wrong places then we advise the originators where they could get better responses.

I consider myself one of the longer term members now and I love to keep up with what's happening and could not give. Tossed fig if someone posts in an area that's not specific to their topic.

I do not believe anyone other than Cindy (administrator) should at any time make comments regarding where another member has posted a topic and for my money if Cindy isn't worried about it why the hell should I or anybody else be.

please believe me I am not commenting on any indervidual posts I am just a big believer in live and let live and if we treat others with the respect and consideration we expect and appreciate ourselves, we will continue to have a forum where people want to post topics and have conversations making this forum even more awesome.

Cindy is concerned about it. If you point out threads in the wrong forum to her she will shift them.

Ok I have tried not to get into this but!!
so my two bobs worth some topics are hard categorise and as such I don't get too concerned about that after all there is more than one way to skin a cat.
However
Things that are posted with the specific purpose of putting a smile on others faces (and let there be more of this ) ie little clips, pictures and funny posts short one liners ect, clearly, to me anyway, they belong in the "jokes " forum .
If not then I will have to agree to disagree
Which by the way is usually the first one I go to to see if there are any new smiles to be had

OK after reading all this stuff about right and wrong I said to the Misses, "I sweep out my work shed, and you sweep out the house".
Now I hope the local hospital has computers in the wards.

I'm still a newby especially where posts are concerned and I find that this forum is far better in layout than most others I have vsited, there are those that have no layout at all everything just dumped into the one area, this makes it hard to follow and even to search for previous postings. And as a new member it takes a little while but to be honest it is set out well and by simply going down the list of options you can easily see where to post, so it ain't broke don't fiddle with it! Cindy may not be worried about posting in the wrong area but she has had to move a few lately so just have a think before submitting a new post it really isn't that hard.

I would post more often but it's not a smart phone friendly site. If I want to post a picture or link I have to get my laptop out and do it. To hard basket. Most sites these days are smartphone friendly. I think part of the problem is phones are getting to smart for a lot of people.

Bruce and Bev,

i think maybe the drop off has happened due to the proliferation of the grey nomad/caravanning/camping/Motorhome Facebook pages.  There are now many of them and all have rapidly increased in size over the past year or so, some with thousands of members regularly posting.

I don't know Conquester, I think people tend to drop of when forums start become irrelevant.

being new here never really sure where to put a post if its down right tech no worries but do you put a question like how wide are your beds there or general ( want to know if 750 is standard single or have i been short changed ) ( tending to fall out after being used to a queen bed to myself )
