Am I past it?

OK, it is Sat night and I have had a couple of sherbets, but think I am still in control. When I tell my friends my hair is naturally as black as coal, and I use a grey tint in my hair so I can qualify as a grey Nomad, they all look at me a bit funny like. I am curious to know if, I am on my own in this trauma, or are there others that share my hassle.

Just joking.

Yes it is a hassle. I am 73 next month & quite often have to produce my licence to prove my age. A funny situation occurred in Mossman a few years ago. A piece of fruit rolled off the stand & I commented to the next lady that as she was younger she could pick it up. She was ready for a real argument, out comes licence- she was 15 yeas younger. Tried to find a new hairdresser when we shifted towns. Wandered into one & was told in no uncertain terms that it was for pensioners only.
Have got good genes in my family fortunately- or unfortunately.

Yes Fastcoach I have been on the forum since 2007 and there is always a star or someone aiming for the title.

Plenty in the same boat Simmo.   Just a helpful hint, as brickies says, any posts on the RV lifestyle or related (or possibly have some urgency for others to know) are as a rule put in General, anything that is off topic like this one are put in I Digress.   And of course look at the index to see whether other section titles would be more appropriate.

Keep posting Simmo, many don't, and at least you are keeping the forum alive and kicking, loved your post on Darwin early life, a real insight to the region in the old days.  smile

Gee, this forum has been so lacking in content and feed back, I would have thought a post under any heading, whether correct or not is a bonus!

Ian - YOU ARE SO RIGHT !!!!!!!! The Forum has become boring with only a few people contributing and so many just lurking and reading. Do we now have a bunch of wilting wallflowers who are too shy to post or comment, or are they lazy, or have they pretty much become disheartened with the Forum.

With so few posts, who cares which section they end up in. If you feel so uptight about a post being in a wrong section, then protest and don't read it !!!

Some here are being too precious about the rules....................it would be entirely different if there were heaps of posts each day

WOW, so many people wanting to pull some of us oldies into linecry. If I was 8 years old and not looking the right way in the school assembly, chat meblankstare. BUT I am a bit past 8 years, and if I bend the rules a little bit to get the most attention, is that a hanging crimeconfuse? I joined this site about 3 weeks or so ago for a bit of fun and entertainmentbiggrin, but if I am going to get chatted every time I call Dark Blue Light Blue, I might as well go and join a suicide forumno.

Hi Young Simmons,

dont get disheartened mate, I joined this forum some time ago to learn from like minded people who enjoy travelling this land, but stopped signing in and just looked occasionally to see if there was anything that interest me, I soon realised that to many people the rules were more important and that status often reared its head!

i hope you keep posting cause like some others have said this forum has been lifeless for a while, but be prepared to cop it from time to time if you upset some of the rule minders :)

keep smiling it keeps them guessing what your up too!

cheers

Jetta
