I thought I might share a couple of pics from the Big 4 Plantation Caravan Park in Carnarvon WA, after Cyclone Olwyn.
It struck on Friday 13th March 2015, about 9am to 3pm for those that get spooked by Black Friday. Surprisingly there was almost no structural damage, but the Gum and Ficus trees took a hammering. Before and after, is our place and even the shade cloth survived the cat 3 storm. We put our lucky escape down to being surrounded by plantations, banana and mango trees braking the wind down. Plus all the monstrous Ficus trees.
Interrested in that we worked there a couple of years ago, at the big 4 Carnarvon, but do not recognise the house, or surroundings! Are you sure it's the Big 4 and not one of the other parks, Andrew and Margaret would have been the Managers at that time!!
Yes Wanda I am fairly sure it is the Big 4 Plantation Caravan Park, as we came here for a couple of nights back in Feb 1999 and have never left (bucking 17 years). We are in the furthest diagonally opposite corner from the front gate. Andrew and Margaret have just finished another one month stint, and left on Mon and are headed back up to work at a C/Van park a in the NT. If you look at the before photo I might have still had my white KIA Sportage little wagon.
Cheeers.....John.

We were there when Andrew & Marg first started, helped train them, but things did not workout with us and Matt & Alex. You must have been next to Henry & his wife!!
Have they upgraded the park at all, it was certainly in need of it when we left in 2013.
G'day Ian, first of all the answer to your last question is NO, and I will leave it there, as I still have to live here.
Henry and his wife are long since gone now, it is Paul and his mate Harry (Jack Russel), in about a 40 foot bus.
If you look at the third photo down, and about an inch and a half in from the left that little white square is the roof on the slide in the kids play ground, and 2 inches to the right of that is Steve and Anna's place. Andrew is an excellent groundsman, but the current one who has done about 18 months before a month off, is a waste of time. EG, Andrew moves the sprinklers about 6 or 8 times per day, the current one might move them twice on a busy day.
Cheers.....John
P.S. You may have noticed, I am struggling to hold my tongue , *&$@#?*

Had to have a little chuckle re holding "your tongue", same this end, was trying to be diplomatic not wanting to be sued re condition of park, say no more!!. Yes I rememeber Steve and Anna, how is Steves health, when we were there he was not great, always respected his views on how the park was being ....run.!
Andrew was a good worker, nice guy, how is his fishing going in the "plastic" boat, they were both keen as mustard when we were with them.
regards
Ian
notice I have not elaborated on the owners!
