Gunbower State Forest Murray River Reserve

This is just an overnighter this trip but you may be interested.

Lots of camping space here Doug.

Hi John, interesting place. Hope you find some nice people when you want them and solitude when you don't.

Gday...

welcome to Victoria

and whist Greens has been afforded "icon status" by many, it is not the natural environment that is the attraction - to be honest, it is not the best, or most attractive, camp spot.

The attraction is the people from this forum that gather there and share their camaraderie.

Wait until a bunch of GNs arrive, you will forget about the natural environment and begin to enjoy yourself.

Cheers - John

So true John, have met a few in the last 12 months & know all about the environment as I'm a regular visitor to Geelong & will never forget the 2009 fires

Would agree, I have driven past Greens plenty of times on the way to or back from somewhere & I would have not given it a thought to stop or camp, I have now considered it a place to visit due to the feedback on this forum & plan to do so in the future once I have sorted my van for self sufficient camping,

I can't answer that question have no comparison from previously, you Ken, as a local would be a better judge.

There is no apparent flooding or drought, the photos suggest that all is well.
