Hello all

Hello one and all - haven't been on air for a while but I have been looking every now and then.  It is good to see that everyone is still getting around this great country.  I went on my trip earlier in the year - had the heart in the mouth when I started off but I thought if I want to see this great place this is how it has to be - so off I set.  Saw some great country and had a good time.  smilesmilesmile Shekon and Frangipani - you both had a wonderful trip by the looks of it - where are both up to now?  It seems that some of you are also heading down to Greens again for the Christmas get together as well.  Also lost a couple of the great people from here - miss their posts.

Anyway keep well and happy travels.  A saying that sticks in my mind is - "Your feet will take you to where your heart wants to be".  - Nelly

Hey Nelly, good to hear from you,,, glad you had a great trip..., Shekon and I had a ball,,, although she did lead me astray a few times..., we parted at Pt Hedland, where I turned right and went across and down the middle and Shekon turned left... I had the most exciting experiences, met lots of great ppl.., made friends with quite a few backpackers, lovely ppl., one is doing the bike thing around Aus, his in Vic ATM heading for the 12 Apostles.., I loved Broome.. did a lot of free camping, I was surprised at all the good spots with dump points, tank water and loo's... did the Uluru thing, did the Oodnadatta track took a flight over Lake Eyre..., am at home ATM, broke and attending to some minor repairs to Athena, no one told me you weren't supposed to take a Motorhome off road, LOL, lots of red dirt but loved it....,   can't wait for my next adventure in the not to distant future...,

Happy travels -Fran

Thanks Doug and Frangipani for your replies. No Doug I won't stay put for too long but it will have to be next year before I set off again. Going to the local Pony Camp to help with the grandies after Christmas - camping in the mh - so I suppose that is 'getting out there'!!! You have been getting around a bit which is great.
Now Frangipani - what is this Shekon leading you astray - I can imagine this to be true as I have met the lady BUT then again I haven't had the pleasure of meeting you as yet, so in fairness to Shekon, I had better reserve my judgement!!! LOL!! Obviously didn't worry you free camping!! I liked Broome also. Have been over the Oodnadatta track before - did you see the Painted Desert? I am going out that way again at some stage. You are not really going off road as such - only driving on gravel roads and I actually live on a gravel road so I don't have much choice so yes I would go on gravel roads - just drive to the conditions. Enjoy planning your next trip - Nelly
