Logan City Council (QLD) has designated an area of Tully Park, on the Mt Lindesay Highway, near Jimboomba, as a three night, self contained camp spot. Wonderful news, and about time!
Just out of Jimboomba, where there is great shopping.
Congratulations Logan city Council!

Yes Bruce I did a bit of reading about the area and the locals are saying they wouldn't camp there.
to me local knowledge is usually gold.
of course I do not wish to discourage others and will make a judgment call based on other peoples experience but just for now I am not planning on being cannon fodder.
how is your trip going mate?
frank
sorry Jules I am OT (again)

Hey rockylizard . The camp is just off the highway at North Maclean going south it is just past the BP service station. Not long past there is a new Caltex servo on the right with a nursery on other corner. This is Greenbank Rd. turn right between these two businesses..
Then turn left at next turn. Think this road is called Beryl Pde. You should then find the camp. It can be seen from the highway. But not accessed directly from it.
We at only a few minutes away so pm me if you would like to catch up
Cheers
Kathy
Hey rocky. You turn off the highway between Caltex servo and winter winds nursery. This road is called Greenbank rd. then turn into beryl Pde and this will take you into the campground

Gday...
Gotcha Kaid ... but the map - see here -
shows that Tully Memorial Park is at the end of Beryl Pde, after Greenbank Rd, as you say. But the Street View views at that end point of Beryl Pde show the park is fenced all around
Is the entrance/access at that 'end point' of Beryl Pde?
If so, then it does not appear 'visible' on the Street View 'pics' I included before
Thanks for your patience.
Cheers - John

Hi Rocky, I have been out there the past week visiting Ame 25 ( colleen )
where the steel post is blocking the entrance to the park....It is gone now so that you can access the grounds to camp. There have been plenty of campers family's and backpackers. Nice and quiet and there are new toilets with water if you have one of those vandle proof tap handles. Rangers do patrol checking on everyone to enforce the 3 day limit. Cheers. Sarg.
Frank You thinking the Logan Council are using us oldies as target practice and fair game for the local trash LOL.....
It's a well established fact, allow others to use a facility and those who do the deeds vanish from sight. They only gather for mischievous purposes where they can not be seen.
Hi everyone, the co-ordinates for Tully Park are in Wiki Camps. I came in from the south and there is a sign on the roadside with caravan camping directions e.g turn left 100 metres.
It is a really great spot to stay and was so convenient for my sister and family to come out to visit and Sarg called in a few times.
Just a shame it is designated 3 days in a one month period as I would go back again before heading off again. Currently at Kalbar Showgrounds @ $18.00 powered/water per night.
AAAHHH my neck of the woods Colleen - Kalbar Showgrounds, used to stay there all the time, my daughter and her family live in Kalbar. The bakery is wonderful isn't it? Is Harry still the caretaker? The one at Tully Park is well placed, we have often driven past and said what a good spot it would be for a free camp. Thanks for the info. Take care, and have fun!!!

Hi Jules, yes Harry is still the caretaker here. My niece in Warwick has also recommended the bakery and my neighbours here today recommend the brown hi-top loaf lol. I plan on taking a walk up to the town tomorrow, no rush as I will be here for a few more days yet. Cheers Colleen
