We stayed about a week at this park and can really recommend it. The sites were big with a hedge of bamboo/palm trees around which gave each site extra privacy, right on the river where we could go kayaking and fishing. The camp kitchen was modern with lots of seating where Richard operated a little coffee shop with fresh cooked muffins and scones, even made the jam himself. evenings saw us enjoying a quiet drink before dinner in the wine and beer bar above the camp kitchen with lovely views of the sunset over the river. Staff were very helpful, particularly in reception, with lots of info about the area including a really enjoyable drive between Mclean and Grafton. only meant to stay two nights but booked on as we were enjoying the area and park so much, can really recommend this park! we will definitely be going back on our next trip to the North coast NSW
We have stayed at Solitary Islands Resort for a month travelling north (was meant to be a week) then called in again for another month travelling south. The place has to be seen to be believed. It is all that Di said and much more! Resort style swimming pool with spa, slide and heated for year round swimming, jumping pillow for any kids, 18 hole putt putt course set amongst tropical gardens, free hire of canoes/kayaks, camp kitchen is huge with all you need (plates, utensils the lot), lovely free bbq's, the bar area up stairs is also huge and an ideal spot. If this doesn't wet your appetite there is the local pub next door which serves great meals and an easy walk. Close by you can go hiking in the national park, 5 minutes to the beach, go whale watching, Oyster shack in town, a local RSL club etc It's 32 km from the highway but worth the trip! The site we were on was a drive through but so much space you could have put another van on the site. Being so close to the National Park you will see plenty of wildlife. Just all round the best place we've stayed in and very affordable. We highly recommend this caravan park. Check out the photos!
